The Foundation has one simple goal this year – INCREASE THE NUMBER OF DONORS.
To meet this challenge, we put in our annual campaign the CRAZIEST INCENTIVE EVER, 1 free registration (approximate value of $250) per club, to the Optimist International (OI) Convention Quebec 2016. Join the annual campaign of the Canadian Children’s Optimist Foundation (CCOF) “I Believe… in the Dime a Day” and see how a small donation might take you to Quebec City.
The campaign which will last from October 1st, 2015 to March 31st, 2016, has a goal of getting half of your clubs’ members to donate to the CCOF and having an average donation of $36.50 per club, the equivalent of a Dime a Day. For the clubs that has fewer than 28 members the total contributions from your clubs’ members must be $1,000 – don’t forget we want to increase the number of donors!
Think it’s impossible? – Have your members do a fundraiser for the Foundation. We know that Optimist members always have great ideas for fundraisers.
As you might already know, the Foundation is the only funder of the district scholarships for oratorical contest, essay contest, and communication contest for the deaf and hard of hearing. The Foundation also funds Optimist International activities such as the JOOI clubs and the Reel Optimist contest. Over the past year, we also initiated a Club Grant program which supports club initiatives.
As President of the Foundation, I invite you to join me during this special year when all will rediscover their Optimism in the beautiful city of Quebec during the Optimist International Convention. Along with the President of Optimist International, Dave Bruns, I encourage you to meet this challenge that each of your club members contributes to the annual Foundation campaign, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!
SAY IT LOUD: I BELIEVE … IN A DIME A DAY!
