Immediate Past-President
Member Optimist Club of Moore since 1990 I joined the Optimist club because I wanted to work with the youth in our community and help make a difference in their lives. I saw all the wonder things that Optimists were doing with the youth and wanted to be part of that. I am looking forward to being a Canadian Children’s Optimist Foundation Board Member and working with such a great group of enthusiastic Optimists who bring a lot of expertise and insight to the foundation. I believe that I will bring some new ideas from a different prospective once I begin my term in October 2013 and become more familiar with my role as a board member. Club Offices held President, Secretary (current). Chair Youth Appreciation. I have help with all the programs that our club runs in our community. The most rewarding is our Youth Appreciation Dinner, watching the enthusiasm of the young people as they receive their recognition for their volunteer work in their community, knowing that they are our future leaders and will continue to volunteer their time for their specific interests. District Office: Chair Spelling Bee, Activities chair, Achievements and Awards chair, DFR and membership Chair Governor – distinguished – 2005 – 2006 International Ambassador, Finance Chair. International – Membership committee. New Club Building committee.

Member of the Rivière-du-Loup Optimist Club since 1991, it is with pride that I have served Optimist International in the St.Lawrence Region as Vice-President for the years 2010-2011. Now, I accept to face a new challenge as a member of the Canadian Children’s Optimist Foundation board of directors because I strongly believe in the organization. Yes, I believe in its philanthropic mission which is to help Optimists help kids. I sincerely think that the enthusiasm and the commitment of the administrators will make the organization grow for years to come, increase donations coming from our generous members, but also promote a sense of belonging and unity with our partners and volunteers.

The Canadian Children’s Optimist Foundation became my charity of choice a number of years ago. I have just finished a successful year as DFR and I am honoured to have been asked to be part of the board of this Foundation and look forward to serving the needs of the Organization and working with a group of other dedicated optimists with the same focus “To bring out the best in kids”

I have been an Optimist since 1986, a member of the Optimist Club of Regina Downtowners in the Alberta, Montana, Saskatchewan and Northern Wyoming District. I have served on various committees at my Club and District level and became Distinguished Governor of this great district in 2005-06. I am honoured to have been asked to serve as a Board member of the Foundation and to follow others who have served in this position and served this Foundation so well. I have just completed a successful year as DFR, which would not have been possible without the support of fellow Optimist’s. I look forward to serving the needs of this great organization to the best of my abilities “To Bring out the Best in Children and Youth”.
